We must admit that we've never been huge on grey handbags. Our closet is full of black and brown purses but for some reason grey seems to be the continually looked over neutral.

This season that's all going to change, because grey handbags are becoming a Fall wardrobe staple. We're loving this studded clutch from Hudson ($395). The oversized clutch is a great compromise for the handbag addict who still needs portability. We can't wait to see how much we can stuff inside of it.

When I think Ferragamo, I think of incredible detailing and luxe materials. It's not the most popular of designer handbag brands, but in my opinion they're among the best crafted in the handbag industry.

This Origami Viper Satchel has a beautifully structured square frame reminiscent of something you might find on the arm of one f New York's famed "ladies who lunch" of the Upper East Side. Those who love fashion know that these designs are not for animal lovers. This bag, is indeed made out of real viper skin in a gorgeous radial pattern. But isn't it lovely?

Alexander McQueen Fall 2008

I'm ashamed to admit this, but I'm afraid that I've grossly underestimated Alexander McQueen. I appreciate the fact that he takes risks, but I've never been a fan of his aesthetic. I'll put it this way: I'm a fan of clothes that are wearable, and most of McQueen's ouevre doesn't fit this classification. However, seeing these bags from the lines Fall collection have made me reconsider my distaste for the raucous aesthetic. The bags are impeccably well made. The beautiful structure combined with the luxe materials make for handbags so irresisitble that I might be willing to fork over the inevitable $5,000+ in order to own one.

I don't know what it is about Chanel, but even the devout fashionista in me cannot appreciate their sometimes wacky and often gaudy designs (it was such a struggle for me not to use the word tacky in that sentence). I just don't get it. I would not wear a single one of these handbags. For some reason, I just don't find them appealing, yet I understand that there are quite a few serious Chanel lovers so this is for them. Is it just me? Are these bags gorgeous and I just can't see it?

I've never really been a fan of python handbags. Sure, it's just another animal skin like leather or stingray, but the texture always freaked me out. But since I've been introduced to Gucci's Hysteria bag in black python, my outlook has changed tremendously. This bag is sleek and sexy. Manufactured by Gucci, the python is of the highest quality and you can barely feel the scales. I especially love how it's appropriate for a range of events. It's casual enough for every day wear, but it can also be dressed up for special events. I know there's been a lot of "hysteria" (pun intended) over Prada's new fairy bag, but I definitely am in love with this one.

Generally, I am a creature of habit. There's beauty in stability. and I've always appreciated that. But I can also understand why every once in a while one feels the need to switch things up a bit.

That's why I didn't immediately cringe when I heard that Louis Vuitton was unveiling a new style of handbag called the Montorgueil. It's certainly not groundbreaking or particularly compelling, but it's new nonetheless. To be quite honest, I think I'll be sticking with my Speedy.

In recent seasons, YSL has had a string of great luck in producing "it" bags. First there was the Downtown, then the Muse, then the Tribute (okay so those might be out of order), and now there's the Majorelle. The cracked leather gives the classicly framed bag a unique twist accented with the signature Y tags. I'm especially infatuated with the color. The pale gold is the perfect neutral to pair with all of Spring's vibrant colors. It's now available for Pre-order from YSL.

I'm usually Phillip Lim's biggest fan, but this bag absolutely doesn't do it for me. Lim is known for his distinctive sophisticated couture looks infused with casual wearability, but, to me , this just screams generic. I'll admit it, I love trends. I follow them religiously. That's not to say that I partake in every fad that arises or that I complete overhaul my wardrobe each season, but I like to be in the know. If you've been reading the magazines or watching the runways as of late, then you know that ombre is one of Spring's hottest trends. So everything from dresses to shoes to handbags are going to bound to have this effect. Including this one I found while online shopping early. Yes, this ombre bowler bag from Arden B. is an obvious knockoff of the Prada, but you've got to admit it's kind of cute.

The Horror!: Marc Jacobs Rana

This handbag is far expensive to be this ugly. I just don't “get” Marc Jacobs. I know that most devoted fashionophiles have deemed him the fashion world's savior, but his aesthetic is wholly unappealing to me.

Take for example this horror. It's terrible. From the color to the “trying too hard to be different” frog brooch, it's a complete mess. The next time I read another editorially proclaiming Marc Jacobs to be the fashion greatest desing wunderkind of our generation, I will think of this bag and laugh.
